LLANSANNOR COMMUNITY HALL ASSOCIATION

Environmental Policy

In carrying out its duties on behalf of the local community, the Llansannor Community Hall Association (LCHA)  aims to manage its activities, and maintain and develop the community hall building and surrounding grounds, in such a way as to promote environmental sustainability, conserve natural resources and prevent environmental pollution.

The LCHA will comply fully with environmental legislation and officially approved codes of practice, and will make continuing efforts to:

·          promote sound environmental management policies and practices;

·          increase awareness of environmental responsibilities amongst community hall users;

·          work with other agencies where appropriate to promote environmental policies;

·          use wherever possible suppliers and services that employ environmentally sound practices;

·          maximise the proportion of waste that is recycled and minimise the quantity of nonrecyclable refuse;

·          reduce energy consumption;

·          minimise consumption of water;

·          minimise use of chemical pollutants;

·          maintain the hall and grounds in an environmentally sensitive way.

The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of the LCHA Executive Committee.  The Committee will seek ways to continually improve its environmental performance, with measurable indicators where possible.  It will review its environmental policy biennially.
